Annual Events

Blessing of the Animals

The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi is celebrated on the first Sunday in October. Members and friends bring their pets and farm animals to be blessed by the Rector and other clergy who are members of the congregation.

Clean Up Days

Some Saturdays in Spring and Fall are designated for parish gatherings to wash windows, tidy up the grounds and put the gardens to bed. Soup is served. Check the web calendar for your next opportunity!

The Annual Summer Fair

This is the largest fund-raiser of the year. The fair is held at the Blue Hill Fairgrounds. Hundreds of Friends of St. Francis participate in making this an exciting event while thousands from the community attend. Admission is free and a good time is guaranteed. This year the Fair organization and proceeds benefited the Nichols Day Camps in Blue Hill.

Pot Luck Suppers

Wonderful food provided by famous St. Francis cooks (we have already published two cookbooks) may be sampled at suppers on Christmas Eve, Mardi Gras, the Easter Week Feast, Summer Parish Picnic, and any other time we can find an excuse.
