The Wednesday Seekers Bible study group is back again meeting at St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal Church. Meetings will run from 10-11:30 a.m. on seven consecutive Wednesdays. The topic is “Sowing Tears, Reaping Joy: The Bible and Brahms’ Requiem.”
Participants will listen to “Ein Deutsches Requiem” (“A German Requiem”) composed by Johannes Brahms and discuss the biblical texts he chose for his composition.
Discussions will be facilitated by the Rev. Tim Ensworth, a retired United Church of Christ minister. Participants will use the resource book “Sowing Tears, Reaping Joy: The Bible and Brahms’ Requiem,” written by Carol Bechtel Reynolds. The book costs $15 and will be made available at the first session. Registration is required.
