The Full Service celebrated by St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal Church Rector The Rev. Dr. Brent Was.

After this Sunday’s Service Fr. Brent and a number of volunteers returned to St. Francis for “Drive Thru Communion” while wearing masks and maintain proper distances. Sarah Everdell and Heather Ford distributed Lenten Bags which included a Lenten Calendar, pancake mix and syrup for Shrove Tuesday, some ashes to administer during Ash Wednesday’s 7pm zoomed service. There were a number of other goodies in the colorful bags. Also a puzzle swap table was set up in the parking lot for people to safely pick out and take up a fresh puzzle for pandemic and Lenten assembly. Finally inside the church near the altar was a table filled with Ginny Thompson’s many original cross stitch booklet/pamphlets.

As Judy Rountree wrote in eClare ” Ginny’s talent is known world-wide. At one time she stitched the entire village of Brooklin, and at another time she was presented to the Queen of Denmark! Ginny was also a collector of cross stitch patterns, over a hundred of which need to be in the homes and hands of cross stitch crafters. Ginny was a long-time much loved parishioner of St Francis Church and the mother of our own Joe Thompson…boat builder and choir member, whose barn was the dedicated Junque destination for the St. Francis Fair.

There are still some available. If you wish to check them out call Barbara Brady in the church office (Tues-Fri 8am -noon) 207-374-5200
