Once again we are not only blessed to have The Rev. Allan Sandlin at the Altar here at St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal Church in Blue Hill Maine. We also celebrate the Blessing of having had the Rev. Dr. Brent as our Rector for three years before he had to resign because of health issues.

Fr. Allan will lead us through this period of change and will be with us for the foreseeable future as Interim Rector. But this is “not his first Rodeo” here.
Fr. Allan was the first full-time Rector for St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal Church after coming to Hinkley Ridge in Blue Hill as Vicar in 1994.
Your webmaster is out of the country so this week you will only have the Facebook Live recording of the full service which includes everything from Fr. Allan’s terrific Homily, at (17:04 in the video) and the liturgical goodbye for Fr. Brent who was able to take part with his family in the pews. That begins at 39:30 of the footage with loving and grateful remarks from the chair of the Out Reach Committee Sarah Everdell (who was also the chair of the Discernment Committee which called Fr. Brent to be our Rector).
Fr. Brent’s remarks begin at 42:09 of the video. We hope to be able to post those videos separately several weeks down the line.

A Liturgy for the Ending of a Pastoral Relationship and Leave Taking from a Congregation can be found at the bottom of this page.
After the Service, there was a special coffee hour to celebrate the whole Was Family,

A big thank you to Judy Rountree and eClare for the photos
