The Emergency Phone Chain Committee keeps the members of the parish informed about time-sensitive news and events at St. Francis. This may include church closure due to weather, important schedule changes for events or meetings, and so on. The decision to activate the phone chain is made by the Rector. If unavailable, the decision is made by a church Warden. Once notified, the Emergency Phone Chain coordinator (or chairman of the Parish Life Committee if the coordinator is absent), contacts members of the committee who then call the names on the appropriate member lists.
